The duet of Plácido Domingo and Dimash was performed on the stage of the Virtuosos v4+ project in Budapest

On 19 January 2024, the official You-Tube channel of the show “Virtuosos V4+” released the first part of the final of the 2023 competition. In the first part of the final, Dimash performed a duet with the greatest voice of the 20th century, Maestro Plácido Domingo. The musicians performed the duet of Nadir and Zurga “Au Fond du Temple Saint” from Georges Bizet’s opera “The Pearl Fishers”.

“Virtuosos V4+” is a classical music talent show with a unique format: it focuses on discovering young talents and providing development and promotion opportunities for young musicians. The show also aims to spread classical music to all social strata and in all directions.

The competition takes place at Hungary’s leading higher music institution, the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest.

Episodes of the project for the 2023 season started airing on Friday evenings on Duna from 29 December. On 19 and 26 January, the two-part finale of the classical music talent show is broadcast, in which eleven young virtuosos demonstrate their knowledge of classical music.

Maestro Plácido Domingo is the President of the International Jury again this year, with Erika Miklósa and András Keller also serving as jury members.

The new season’s international jury includes Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen, singer Plácido Domingo Jr, guitarist Pablo Sainz Villegas, artistic director of the Czech Krumlov International Music Festival Gabriela Racidi, producer Harvey Goldsmith and renowned cellist Stepan Hauser.

“I’ve never been in Budapest before. It’s my first time. And in Budapest my dreams come true, because all my life from my childhood time I had a dream to meet with Placido Domingo and to work with him together.

I told him: “I comes to music because of you”. And when I was 5 years old I had a VHC. VHC with his concert. So from that time I believe to our meeting. So Budapest it’s amazing. I love Budapest”, – said Dimash.
