On the first Sunday of July, when Kazakhstan celebrates National Dombra Day, two Belgian radio stations dedicated special broadcasts to the holiday and the artistry of Dimash Qudaibergen.
On AFM Radio in Liège, Wendy Mrazek, a representative of the Belgian Dears fan club, congratulated Kazakhstan on the occasion, introduced listeners to the dombra as the country’s national musical instrument, and delivered a greeting in Kazakh: “Dombyra kuni qutty bolsyn!” (“Happy National Dombra Day!”).

During the program, the host noted that Wendy is studying the Kazakh language through the Embassy of Kazakhstan and is actively promoting Kazakh culture in Belgium. The broadcast also featured information about Dimash’s European tour, while the presenters reminded listeners that the Belgian fan club had previously received a letter of appreciation from the artist, presented by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Ghent.
In addition, AFM Radio announced that it will produce a special annual program dedicated to Dimash.
Following the interview, the station aired Dimash’s songs “Adai” and “Daididau.”
The festive initiative was also supported by MCSRadio Aywaille, where Dimash’s music is played every day. During the broadcast, the presenters congratulated Kazakhstan on National Dombra Day and, in Kazakh, wished listeners: “Dombyra kuni qutty bolsyn!”
