On October 21, 2024, a grand charity event the Virtuosos Charity Concert took place in Singapore.
This gala concert, featuring winners from the Virtuosos project, is being held for the third time in Singapore.
This year, the concert featured star guests, including members of last year’s Virtuosos jury and world-renowned musicians such as cellist Stepan Hauser and vocalist Dimash Qudaibergen.
The concert took place at the Star Performing Arts Centre and showcased works by J.S. Bach, F. Liszt, J. Brahms, D. Genson, H. Zimmer, and other global composers, performed by harp, piano, violin, clarinet, cello, and the Orchestra of the Music Makers the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Peter Pejtsik.
Kazakh musician Dimash Qudaibergen presented several pieces from his repertoire. He performed “Autumn Strong” in Chinese as a solo, while “Sos d’un terrien en détresse” was a duet with cellist Hauser, accompanied by the orchestra. Additionally, Dimash sang the English classic “The Show Must Go On,” one of Queen’s most popular songs, and together with opera singer Ildiko Medyimorich, young musicians, and the orchestra, he performed Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World.”
In the finale of the evening an extraordinary surprise for the audience was the appearance on stage of the great maestro Placido Domingo, who performed one of the world’s most famous songs “Bésame Mucho”.
As part of the project, Dimash and Hauser prepared a unique collaboration for their fans – a video of their joint performances of “Sos d’un terrien en détresse.”
