Their admiration for Dimash Qudaibergen has led French fans Nadine Pierrot and Sandrine Bailly to develop a deeper connection with Kazakhstan and contribute to cultural and educational ties between the two countries.

Representatives of the French fan community have visited Kazakhstan on several occasions. During their trips, they have explored the country’s history and culture, learned more about its education system, and taken part in initiatives aimed at strengthening humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and France.

On August 21, Nadine Pierrot and Sandrine Bailly travelled to Astana specifically to attend the official opening of the Tolegen Aibergenov classroom at Secondary School No. 16. The ceremony was attended by the poet’s daughter, Ainar Tolegenova, as well as representatives of Kazakhstan’s cultural and intellectual community.

During their visit, the French guests were also introduced to the Dimash Qudaibergen classroom, where students receive vocal training.

Another important focus of their activities has been supporting the study of French in Kazakhstan. In August, more than 100 French-language books were delivered from Paris to Almaty for school students and teachers.

The initiative was inspired by Nadine Pierrot’s visit to Kazakhstan last year. During that trip, she met Aigul Doschanova, a French language teacher at Gymnasium No. 25 named after I. Esenberlin in Almaty and President of the Association of French Language Teachers of Kazakhstan. It was following this meeting that the idea of donating French-language literature to educational institutions in Kazakhstan emerged.

The collection sent from France includes children’s books and educational materials, fairy tales, and books on French history and culture. Of particular value are works by Kazakh authors that have been translated into French.

The initiative was made possible with the support of the ALEM Association, which promotes Kazakh culture in France, as well as the Embassy of Kazakhstan. Some of the books will remain in the library of Gymnasium No. 25, while others are planned to be distributed to educational institutions in different regions of the country. In particular, a selection will be sent to Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Aktobe, where French language classes are being introduced this year.

According to Nadine Pierrot, the organizers intend to continue the initiative and expand the number of Kazakh schools receiving French-language literature.

The two sides are also considering further areas of cooperation, including opportunities for Kazakh teachers to visit France for professional development and to expand their expertise.
