The DimashAli Creative Center has released a music video for Kanat Aitbayev’s composition “Astana – Tashkent,” bringing together the musical and dance traditions of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
According to Kanat Aitbayev, the idea for the composition was born during his creative visit to Uzbekistan. During the trip, the Kazakh delegation received an exceptionally warm and heartfelt welcome from their Uzbek hosts. The hospitality of the Uzbek people, their genuine friendliness, and the atmosphere of mutual respect inspired him to create a musical work dedicated to the spirit of good-neighborly relations.
Renowned poet Kuat Borash wrote the lyrics to accompany the music, capturing the warmth and sincere friendship that marked that memorable visit. The lyrics celebrate the beauty of cities in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the richness of their cultures, and their centuries-old traditions.
One of the composition’s highlights is a musical dialogue between traditional instruments. Dombra players Temirlan and Yernat engage in a spirited musical exchange with Uzbek musician Rustam Tuleshov, who performs on the saz. This lively instrumental encounter showcases the distinctive musical traditions of each nation, demonstrating how different cultural sounds can complement one another in perfect harmony.
The music video is further enriched by captivating choreography performed by Kazakhstan’s State Dance Ensemble “Saltanat” and Uzbekistan’s “Shahzoda Dance” ensemble.
The composition was arranged by Rustam Tuleshov, with Kanat Aitbayev serving as music producer. The music video was directed by Ikromali Mukhamedzhanov.
The “Astana – Tashkent” music video stands as a musical expression of gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to the Kazakh delegation, as well as a symbol of friendship, mutual respect, and cultural dialogue between the two brotherly nations.
