At Dimash Qudaibergen’s solo concert at Madison Square Garden, the song “Love’s Not Over Yet” was performed live for the first time as part of his “Stranger” world tour.
The concert premiere was made even more special by the presence of an honored guest – Walter Afanasieff, a renowned producer, composer, and two-time Grammy Award winner, whom Dimash personally invited to his debut performance on New York’s legendary stage.
The author of the song accompanied Dimash on the piano, and the duet of the two maestros sounded both tender and powerful.
In an interview with DimashNews, Mr. Afanasieff shared his emotions after the show:
“For me, to be in such a place, with such an artist… I was truly moved.”
The maestro said that he listened attentively to every song throughout the concert, constantly asking who the composer was – and was amazed to learn that, from one song to the next, it was Dimash himself.
He also noted the remarkable devotion of Dimash’s fans, calling it something rare and special.
“There are actors who rarely watch their own films. I rarely listen to my own works, but this song is a miracle.
When I speak to people who don’t know Dimash, I play this song for them.
And to perform it here, in this place…
I have played at Madison Square Garden several times, but I’ve never felt anything like this before. I’m truly happy,” – shared Walter Afanasieff.
