On February 22, the Dimash Japan Fan Club held a meeting with representatives from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Japan. Dimash has long-standing creative ties with the Land of the Rising Sun, and his dedicated fan club has supported the Kazakh singer for many years.
The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests — Mr. Anuarbek Karashev and Mr. Aidos Darkenov from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Japan, as well as Mr. Satoshi Akao, a Japanese figure who played a significant role in the establishment of the Kazakh Embassy in Tokyo.
Dimash participated in the ABU TV Song Festival in Tokyo in 2019, performing “S.O.S D’un Terrien En Détresse.” The following year, this song, along with the Kazakh folk song “Samaltau,” resonated at the “Tokyo Jazz” festival.
In 2021, Dimash performed the Japanese song “Ikanaide” at both “Tokyo Jazz” and the ABU TV Song Festival, garnering numerous enthusiastic responses from the audience, professional musicians, and lyricists. That same year, members of the Dimash Japan Fan Club interviewed the renowned Japanese lyricist Goro Matsui, the author of “Ikanaide.”
In 2020, Dimash’s fans from the Dimash Japan Fan Club had discussions with Flavien Compagnon and a live stream conversation with Walter Afanasieff about the song “Love’s Not Over Yet.”
“Dimash is a miracle. He is simply a human, angelic, musical wonder! His talent, vocal abilities, his love, and connection with music through his voice — I’ve never seen anything like it before. There will be new music, we will make it happen. But everything will happen in its own time, as it should,” said the composer to Dimash’s Japanese fans in 2020.
And now, the time has come — on March 7, Dimash’s new song will be released on all music platforms, accompanied by the premiere of the “Love’s Not Over Yet” music video on his YouTube channel.
Returning to the recent fan meeting, it was not just a discussion about Dimash Qudaibergen’s music but a true cultural exchange. Participants deepened their dialogue by discussing the similarities between Japan and Kazakhstan, sharing insights about the cultures and languages of both countries. The atmosphere was warm and friendly.
A special moment of the event was the joint viewing of a video created by the Dimash Japan Fan Club titled “Kazakhstan and Dimash.” Representatives of the Kazakh Embassy expressed how genuinely moved they were by what they saw.
“Thanks to Dimash, we felt the connection and strong spiritual bond that unites Japan and Kazakhstan through his music,” shared the Dears from the Japanese fan club.
