On June 13 at 20:00, the Almaty Theatre will present the premiere of an independent theatrical production – the musical drama “Sizdi suyem…” (“I Love You…”).
The performance tells a story of love, difficult choices, and the inner conflicts faced by its characters. At the same time, it goes beyond personal relationships, exploring themes of spiritual connection to Almaty, cultural memory, and urban identity.
A key concept of the production is a reimagining of Almaty as a center of spirituality, aesthetics, and artistic intelligence. The city itself becomes a living emotional presence in the performance, symbolized through apples, the scent of apple orchards, and Almaty as an image. The story unfolds across historically and culturally significant locations, creating a bridge between the past and the present.
The play is written by K. Murat, with music composed by A. Omarova. The production is directed by Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Alma Kakisheva. The project’s producer and lead actress, Perizat, is played by Indira Kulgambetova.
“We decided to dedicate this performance to the memory of a master of Kazakh theatrical art, educator, professor, and People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, Yessimkhan Obaev. This is our way of expressing respect and gratitude to our teacher,” the actress said.
The production also features Kasym Demeu, Kuanysh Konysbekov, Aigerim Kairatkyzy, and Yelshat Mametekov.
