On October 9, between his solo concerts in Mexico, Dimash Qudaibergen met with representatives of the Kazakh diaspora and local journalists at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Mexico.
At the beginning of the event, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Mexico, Almurat Turganbekov, greeted Dimash and the gathered guests:
“Dear Dimash, congratulations on your first concert in Mexico. It was a tremendous success — the audience went absolutely wild. Everyone loved it, and tomorrow you have another concert ahead. You have a very busy schedule, so we are deeply grateful that you took the time to visit our embassy and meet with our community. There are not many of us here, which makes it a double honor to host you today.”
Dimash was asked several questions:
“Could you share your feelings about Mexico and your first concert here? Did you have a chance to see anything in the city?”
“Dear ladies and gentlemen, first of all, let me say a huge thank you for your support and attention. I’m very happy to be here. Yesterday was an incredible day not only for me but for our entire country, for our culture. None of this would have been possible without your support — thank you so much!
Yesterday was truly unforgettable for me because, standing on stage, I saw so many beautiful faces; I could feel their souls, their energy, their love. Every time I perform — no matter where — I draw so much inspiration from my audience. The most important thing for me, as always, is the opportunity to represent our culture and our nation. I’m deeply grateful to the Mexican audience — thanks to them, I’ve become a little more well-known than before.
Since my first day performing in China back in 2017, my fans have done an enormous amount of work, carrying out many important projects. Because of their dedication, people who had never heard of me before are now discovering my music. And now I have the opportunity to perform for large audiences around the world.
Over the past ten years, I’ve performed in many countries before tens of thousands of people. And every time I sing in my own language, performing Kazakh songs and presenting our culture, no matter where I am, my listeners always try to support me — they even sing along. Though sometimes it’s not easy to pronounce the words, they always do their best to make me happy, and I truly appreciate that. I simply want to thank everyone. Yesterday’s concert — yes, it was definitely on a very high level. And I don’t mean my performance, but rather the way the audience supported us.
I haven’t had a chance to explore the city, because before a concert I never go out — I need to prepare and focus on the performance. The concert itself is the priority. I’m not here as a tourist; I came to do my job well. Perhaps later, we can talk more about how beautiful Mexico is.
Tomorrow I have another concert here, so I need to prepare both mentally and physically. I’ll do my very best to give everything I have on stage.”
