From October 13 to 20, 2024, Almaty is hosting the ATP 250 tennis tournament for the first time.

On October 15, 2024, the opening ceremony of this major international event took place at Almaty Arena.

The event’s headliner was People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dimash Qudaibergen.

Fans of the artist know that Dimash is a big tennis enthusiast who regularly trains to stay in shape.

During the opening ceremony, Dimash performed the songs “When I’ve Got You” and “Weekend”, perfectly capturing the spirit of tennis as a unique sport that combines strength and endurance with a positive emotional vibe.

He concluded his performance with the Kazakh song “Rizamyn Tagdyrga” by composer Kairgali Kozhanbaev, who was the first director of the Aktobe Music College named after A. Zhubanov, delighting the audience.
