On October 29–30, Ankara is hosting the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held under the theme “The Turkic Century: Unity in Language, Thought and Action.”
The summit brings together the leaders of the five OTS member states: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye. Representatives of the observer states – Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus – have also been invited to attend.
On October 29, a special concert honoring the heads of state of the Organization of Turkic States was held at the Presidential Congress and Cultural Center.
Dimash Qudaibergen, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, delivered the closing performance of the concert.
His performance featured his signature song, the French-language “SOS d’un terrien en détresse,” alongside contemporary arrangements of traditional Kazakh music: the folk song “Samaltau” and the instrumental composition (kui) “Adai.”
Dimash brought the traditional sounds of his homeland to the distinguished audience, accompanied by accomplished Kazakh instrumentalists: dombra players Temirlan Olzhabay and Yernat Nauryz, kobyz player Olzhas Qurmanbek, and sybyzgy player Sanjay Almishev.
