On May 15, 2025, Dimash Qudaibergen released a brand-new music video for the song “Tau ishinde”, originally written by prominent Kazakh poet and writer Saken Seifullin — a foundational figure in Kazakh literature.
Ahead of the premiere, DimashNews sat down with the video’s director Galym Asylov and lead actress Aiym Seitmetova to talk about the creative process and behind-the-scenes moments.

We first asked director Galym Asylov whether the song or the script came first — and how a near-folkloric Kazakh song was paired with such a modern storyline.
“The song definitely came first,” Galym explained. “We wanted the script to be fresh and non-traditional — to film Dimash in an unexpected genre and really surprise the audience. We’ve already shown him in horror, action, even space sci-fi… This time, we decided to try comedy.”
How did you ‘turn everyone into Dimash’? What was the most challenging or memorable part of filming?
“Blending Dimash’s face onto other bodies was no easy task. The result might feel a bit surreal — which was actually the intention.”
“The lead actors were incredible — especially the ones playing the parents, and of course, the main character. One fun fact: much of the early dialogue in the video was improvised on set by the actors themselves.”
Was Dimash okay after the cake scene at the end?
(laughs) “Yes, he was totally fine. In fact, Dimash insisted that the cake hit be real — but that was risky, because there were candles on it…”
After the teaser dropped, many fans said they saw themselves in the main character.
“This music video isn’t about any one fan in particular. Dimash has a deep love and respect for his fans, and that feeling is mutual. Everything in the video is justified by the electric shock at the start — it’s all just a fantasy, a funny dream.”
How did you choose the cast?
“Dimash suggested working with a real acting family, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. They’ve known him since he was young — their families are close.”

The video features actress and blogger Aiym Seitmetova alongside her real-life parents — renowned Kazakh actors Azat Seitmetov and Danagul Temirssultanova.
Aiym graduated from KazNUI with a degree in Musical Theater and is known for her roles in popular Kazakh comedies and melodramas, such as Roommates, Wedding at All Costs, Zhibek, and Love Without Borders.
Here’s what she told DimashNews about the experience:
“My mom called me and said there was a new Dimash video being made — and they were offering me the lead role! She had already given them my contact info. She also said the script was really interesting and that I should say yes. And they invited my parents to join the cast, too.”
“The script really was great, so I was happy to be part of it.”
You’re known for your comedic work in film and TV. Have you done many music videos? How are they different?
“I’ve done a few music videos, though not recently. They’re definitely easier than films — no dialogue, so it’s all about conveying emotion through facial expressions.”
What did you think of the story and the ‘Dimash Forever’ props?
“The plot was fun and unique. And the classic song was reimagined in such a beautiful, modern way. Dimash’s voice sounded amazing, as always. As for the props — I especially loved the main character’s T-shirt!” (smiles)
Were you ever a superfan yourself? Did you have posters on your wall?
“Yes! When I was about 14 or 15, I was obsessed with a certain group. I even baked a cake for my favorite artist’s birthday and had a big poster of him on my wall. But of course, the video exaggerates everything for comedic effect — especially the mom’s tattoos and the dad’s hairstyle!” (laughs)
What was it like working with your parents — easier or harder than working with other actors?
“I love filming with my parents. I feel especially comfortable around them. They’re so supportive and experienced — they always give me advice. Sharing a frame with them is priceless. It becomes part of our family’s story.”
“Actually, my very first film role was with my dad — he played my uncle, who was like a father figure. I’ll never forget how he helped me, guided me, and made me feel at ease.”
Since it’s a comedy, there must have been some funny moments on set. Can you share one?
“Definitely the dance scene! At first, I wasn’t even supposed to be in it — but the director made a last-minute decision, and it turned out to be hilarious and spontaneous. Overall, the shoot had such a warm and fun atmosphere.”
You worked with Dimash for the first time — what was your impression?
“Dimash is incredibly kind and attentive, a truly thoughtful person. He made time for everyone. Those three days on set felt like living a little life — so much emotion, warmth, and energy.”
“It was an absolute joy to work with Dimash and his team. He’s funny, hardworking, insanely talented — a true pride of Kazakhstan. We were honored to be part of his project.”
The final message of the video is: be careful what you wish for — your dreams might come true. Do you believe in that? What’s your biggest dream?
“It’s such a cool message! Dreams do come true. And dreaming is so important — it inspires and energizes you. I have many dreams: I want to succeed in business, land an amazing role, fully unlock my potential, build a big, loving family. And of course — for there to always be peace and harmony in the world.”
