On August 29, Karaganda hosted a large-scale concert marking Miners’ Day, drawing an estimated 250,000 people. Following the celebrations, the event’s headliner, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Dimash Qudaibergen, visited Qarmet’s Kostenko Mine.

The singer was welcomed by Andrey Lavrentyev, a prominent Kazakhstani entrepreneur and Chairman of the Boards of Directors of Qarmet JSC and the Allur Group of Companies.

Descending 700 meters underground, Dimash saw firsthand the conditions in which miners work and gained a closer understanding of the complexity and responsibility of their profession. During the visit, he was introduced to the mine’s operations, as well as modern safety and personnel-tracking systems that allow the location of workers underground to be monitored.

Dimash later shared a post on Instagram expressing his appreciation for the opportunity to meet the miners in person. He paid tribute to their dedication, thanked them for their work, congratulated them on Miners’ Day and noted that the mine is undergoing continuous modernization.

Happy Miners’ Day! Wishing you good health, well-being and safe shifts! Thank you, Qarmet!” Dimash wrote.
