The millennia-old silhouette of the sacred city was washed in warm shades of gold as dawn illuminated the sky over Turkestan. Eight travelers set out to explore this vital trade crossroads linking China, Central Asia, and Europe. For centuries, caravans traveling these routes carried not only silk and spices, but also fostered exchanges between Eastern and Western civilizations, religions, cultures, and music.

Dimash prepared several remarkable adventures for the participants.
The “Concert of Traditional Dishes and Songs” unveiled Kazakhstan’s most authentic folk traditions. Accompanied by the melodious sounds of the dombra, guests sampled beshbarmak and other traditional delicacies at a bustling street bazaar.

The “Ecological Symphony of Sunflowers and Bees” introduced the travelers to the purity of life in nature. The singers visited a sunflower field outside the city, where, surrounded by golden waves of blossoms and warm sunlight, they listened to the whisper of the wind across a sea of flowers and the rhythmic hum of bees, drawing healing inspiration for their musical creativity.

The “Variations of Millennia: The Fate of the Silk Road” brought them to the historical heart of Turkestan, the ancient city of Otrar, where, among weathered ruins, participants could almost hear echoes of the past and the bustle of caravans that once traversed the Silk Road.

Through the eyes of the young singers, full of curiosity and eager to absorb every detail of their surroundings, viewers experienced a deep historical immersion into the traditions of these sacred places.

With their creative spirits enriched, the contestants began preparing for a local competition under the attentive professional guidance of the show’s producer, Dimash Qudaibergen, who devoted time to each participant and shared the secrets of his craft.

Performances by the eight participants, inspired by their journey through Turkestan’s ethnographic landmarks, will be featured in the next episode of the show.

Today, the project’s musical expert, renowned Chinese singer Lei Jia, performed for the audience. She presented a song as an ode to the land, noting that China, like Kazakhstan, holds a special reverence for its native homeland.

Watch on Hunan TV and Mango TV on Thursdays at 10:00 PM.
