On July 13, a meeting of fans of the Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen took place in Madrid. The event gathered fans from all over Spain, as well as from Germany and Switzerland. The event was timed to coincide with Dombyra Day and became significant for all participants, uniting two cultures – Spanish and Kazakh.
Among the honored guests were representatives of the Kazakh embassy in Spain, including Ambassador Danat Mussayev, First Secretary Kuanysh Abpasov, and Head of Culture and Tourism Affairs Raimbek Toktaubaev. Professor Sandu Toktaubaeva, who teaches the Kazakh language to Spanish fans online, received warm gratitude from the participants.
To celebrate Dombyra Day, the Kazakh embassy organized a concert where children performed pieces on the traditional instrument. Alinur and Alikhan Amangeldy and Daulet Ismailov showcased their skills and mesmerized the audience, conveying the spirit of Kazakh music.
Gulnara Gulcha, a representative of the Kazakh diaspora in Spain, delighted guests with traditional Kazakh dishes and national costumes.
Special guests also attended the event: Jose Buson, a fan art artist who presented his works related to Dimash; Lucia Casani, winner of the Baqytty Bala 2023 program; and Zhalen Ali, finalist of La Voz Kids 2023. The young singers performed songs, enlivening the beautiful evening. The final number, featuring a performance of one of Dimash’s songs, elicited particular delight from the audience.
The meeting of Dimash Qudaibergen’s fans in Madrid became not only a celebration of music but also a symbol of cultural unity.
