On June 6, 2025, a remarkable performance brought together four musical legends. During the second final of the 10th anniversary edition of Virtuosos, a prestigious competition for young instrumentalists, jury members José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, HAUSER, and Dimash Qudaibergen joined forces to perform the iconic song “My Way.”
The deep, expressive voices of the three tenors, paired with the soulful melody of the cello, created a powerful, emotional portrait of a life fully lived, right on stage.
The song, originally made world-famous by Frank Sinatra in 1968 when he was 53, became a timeless classic. In 1994, the year Dimash was born, the legendary Three Tenors (Domingo, Carreras and Pavarotti) performed “My Way” at their renowned concert The Three Tenors in Concert, as a tribute for Sinatra’s 79th birthday.
Decades later, Virtuosos became the stage where time stood still. Maestros Carreras and Domingo once again performed the song, demonstrating the unending evolution of an artist’s life. Alongside them were two internationally acclaimed younger musicians, Dimash and HAUSER, gratefully absorbing the priceless wisdom of the great masters, with a mission to pass it on to future generations.
“Working with Maestro Domingo and Maestro José Carreras was a dream come true,” shared Dimash. “If you watch our press conference, you’ll hear me speak like a true fan, a young admirer, because it’s not easy making decisions for the younger generation while standing beside such giants.
And to them, to our Maestros, I too represent the younger generation. I was really nervous, but incredibly inspired. They are still performing, still singing magnificently. I look forward to every time they step on stage. May God bless them to keep sharing their talent for 20, maybe even 30 more years.
When I first met Maestro Domingo, I was overwhelmed. I told him: ‘Maestro, I became a musician, a singer because of you. You played a huge role in my life.’ And he said: ‘I enjoy your art as well, your voice, your music.’ That was an unforgettable day for me.
I’ve met many world-famous figures, including Jackie Chan, Andrea Bocelli, and others. But I just want to thank God for this opportunity, and thank Virtuosos for making it happen. May God bless everyone who helped create this incredible program.”
