On April 1, an evening dedicated to the 99th anniversary of the birth of Nurgisa Tlendiyev, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan and the USSR, Kazakh composer, dombrist and conductor, was held at the Zhambyl State Philharmonic Hall in Almaty.

The concert was attended by the state academic folklore and ethnographic orchestra of national instruments named after N. Tlendiev “Otyrar Sazy” under the direction of the chief conductor, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Dinzuhra Tlendieva.

Favorite songs of the great composer were performed by honored figures of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Ulan Kenzhebekov, Nurzhan Zhanpeisov and laureates of international competitions – Farhat Kubiev, Zhuldyz Bayzhuma, Balzhan Zhunisova, artists of the State Choral Chapel named after B. Baikadamov.

Dimash and Svetlana Aitbayeva expressed good wishes to the orchestra “Otyrar Sazy” under the direction of Dinzukhra Tlendiyeva, daughter of Nurgisa Tlendiyev. Dimash thanked all the artists and the orchestra for art, for introducing the culture of Kazakhstan to the whole world.

The musician also shared that for the last 10 years neither in Kazakhstan nor in other countries of the world he had not been to concerts as a spectator. Inspired by the wonderful concert, Dimash impromptu with the orchestra with the support of the audience performed “Alkissa” on dombyra.
