Dimash Holds Press Conference and Fan Meeting in BarcelonaWhen asked about the China–Kazakhstan project, Dimash revealed details of a new competition in which he will serve as a producer:

“This is going to be a large-scale competition. As I imagine it now and as I hope it will be, it will be a project of planetary scale. Of course, only God knows how far we’ll be able to go with it. Right now, we’re in the final stage of negotiations with Hunan TV. The idea came from our Chinese friends, and I was invited to lead the project. In the end, we agreed that the show will be filmed in Kazakhstan as a symbol of friendship not just between China and Kazakhstan, but among all nations.

We’ll take great care in selecting the musicians. I want the jury to consist of legendary masters and well-known artists. This will be my debut as a producer of a vocal competition, and we’ll try to create something truly outstanding. Just know that this project will be very different from all existing TV shows. I feel a great responsibility and excitement about the chance to bring this ambitious idea to life and discover new, talented artists.”

Dimash also mentioned upcoming plans in China, including participation in a film festival, though details remain confidential for now.

Dimash Holds Press Conference and Fan Meeting in BarcelonaWhen asked about his October solo concert at Madison Square Garden, he was questioned whether achieving one dream after another ever feels intimidating. Dimash replied that it doesn’t matter to him where he performs – what matters is performing for his fans and earning their applause. Thanks to God and the Dears, he’s not afraid of anything.

Dimash Holds Press Conference and Fan Meeting in BarcelonaHe also spoke in detail about his work as an actor and the music video production process:

“Everything is challenging, interesting, and carries responsibility. I pay attention to every detail. The people who work with me often joke they don’t want to do it again (laughs). The person behind my music videos for ‘When I’ve Got You’, ‘Smoke’, ‘Tau Ishinde’, ‘Kieli Meken’, and ‘Omir’ – as well as the visual content in my live shows – is Galym Assylov, a renowned director in Kazakhstan. We became friends a couple of years ago, and despite everything, he continues to work with me out of friendship (laughs).

There are many crucial moments. Even in color grading, I’m involved. I take part in arrangements, mixing – I’m involved everywhere. I can’t say whether it’s good or bad, but I believe that every artist should take care of their own creations. Huge respect to Galym Assylov and to Yerlan Bekchurin, who’s been working with me for almost 10 years.

I still get offers to act in films. During ‘Singer’, I was often offered lead roles. But my mind isn’t set on that right now. I’m focused on music. In the future… we’ll see.”

Dimash Holds Press Conference and Fan Meeting in BarcelonaDimash’s father, Kanat Aitbaev, who heads the DimashAli creative center, added:

“Some people think Dimash’s song choices are dictated by someone else – that’s not true. He creates everything the way he envisions it. He selects his entire repertoire himself, directs the shows as he sees fit, and supervises the music videos. He acts as co-director. All of his creative works come from his own ideas and his heart. He’s meticulous, redoing things dozens of times if needed. That’s why he jokes that people don’t want to work with him again – but they always come back because they love Dimash.”

Dimash Holds Press Conference and Fan Meeting in BarcelonaAbout working with José Carreras, Dimash shared:

“In just a few days, our joint performance – with Maestro José Carreras and Maestro Plácido Domingo – will premiere (Editor’s note: the performance of ‘My Way’ will soon be available on the YouTube channel of the ‘Virtuosos’ project). It was unbelievable. Standing beside them during the recording, I was nervous but thrilled. It was an amazing experience.”

Dimash Holds Press Conference and Fan Meeting in BarcelonaWhen asked which of his past covers is his favorite, Dimash said:

“I haven’t performed covers in several years. After ‘Singer’, I’ve focused on my own songs. But even when performing someone else’s song, I always take part in the production – the arrangement, recording style. For example, the songs by Igor Krutoy that I sing, like ‘Stranger’, ‘Ave Maria’, ‘Love like a dream’ – I had a hand in producing all of them.”

Dimash Holds Press Conference and Fan Meeting in BarcelonaAsked how his voice holds up during such long concerts, he explained:

“Because I support all sounds with strong vocal technique, I don’t feel too much strain on my vocal cords. That’s how I manage to perform 4-hour concerts, singing in various genres, languages, and vocal ranges. I feel comfortable during and after performances. Sometimes I even want to do another show right after. I gain energy from it.

In the future, I believe my voice will still sound strong. It will gain new colors and timbres. But with proper technique, it should last for many years.”

Dimash Holds Press Conference and Fan Meeting in BarcelonaKanat Aitbayev emphasized Dimash’s intense physical training, which is crucial given the stamina needed on stage. At his Astana concert, for example, the stage was 85 meters wide – and after running back and forth for four hours, he had effectively covered several kilometers.

“Actually, Dimash had a 40-degree fever on the day of that concert, but canceling was not an option. A medical team was on standby backstage and gave him injections. We were deeply worried, but Dimash pushed through out of love for his audience. I pray he’ll have the strength to keep going for another hundred years,” his father shared emotionally.

Dimash Holds Press Conference and Fan Meeting in BarcelonaThe atmosphere of the fan meeting was warm and heartfelt. Dimash spoke via video call to a child of one of the fans, wished him a happy birthday, and sang “Happy Birthday to You” for another Dear celebrating that day. An elderly couple, ages 79 and 81, gave Dimash their blessings, and a young Dear invited onstage asked him what his favorite song was: “S.O.S”, he replied.

Mansur Qudaibergen played “Mahabbat Ber Magan” on the piano, and was sweetly and harmoniously supported by Dears and his older brother.
