The festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month and is traditionally celebrated with family while gazing at the full moon, whose radiance symbolizes the unity of the family hearth.

Dimash performed a duet with Chinese singer Huang Xiaoyun, singing the song “仰世而来” / “I Came to Honor Mortal Life” about a hero who dares to challenge both the stars and the moon. The song reflects the message that one should not wait when there is a desire and an opportunity to act, emphasizing self-sufficiency and staying true to oneself.

In 2018, Dimash participated in the China Mid-Autumn Festival Gala for the first time, performing the song “You and Me” with Chinese star Wang Li. Last year, the Kazakh artist sang “万里梦同心” / “Thousands of Miles, a Common Dream” with renowned Chinese singer Tang Weiwei at the Mid-Autumn Festival.
