This is the second time that Mexican Dears have participated in the El Juguetón (“Playfulness”) charity event organized by Mexico’s famous national television station TV Azteca.

The El Juguetón project is the world’s largest campaign to collect and donate toys to children in honor of Three Kings Day, which children in Mexico look forward to even more than Christmas.

The charity event dates back to 1994, when a famous Mexican journalist from TV Azteca, Jorge Garralda, received a letter from two sisters, Esther and Libertad. In their letter, the girls told him that on the day of the Three Kings holiday they would have no toys at all because of their family’s difficult financial situation.

Then Jorge Garralda created the project “El Juguetón” so that none of the children would be left without a gift on a holiday so beloved by them. The charity event is held annually at the beginning of December, and everyone can take part in it. To date, it has been held not only in Mexico, but also in the United States, Ecuador, Honduras and El Salvador.
