Kazakh figure skater Mikhail Shaidorov has won a historic Olympic gold medal in men’s singles figure skating.
The complex and beautiful composition was performed brilliantly by Mikhail and brought him Kazakhstan’s first-ever Olympic victory in men’s singles figure skating.

Mikhail skated his free program to “Confessa,” performed by People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Dimash Qudaibergen. The Italian-language song was presented in a compilation with the aria “Diva Dance” from the cult film The Fifth Element during the final of the show Singer in China.

For the free skate, Mikhail scored 198.64 points. His total score was 291.58 points — a new personal best.
According to the National Olympic Committee’s press service, Shaidorov was in fifth place after the short program with 92.94 points. In the free skate, he earned a record 198.64 points (291.58 overall) to claim the gold medal. During the competition, Shaidorov cleanly landed five quadruple jumps for the first time in his career.
