On October 30, during Dimash Qudaibergen’s first concert in Madrid, the venue was filled with white hand fans as part of an initiative called “La Gran Voz Kazaja” (“The Great Kazakh Voice”), organized by the official Spanish fan club, Dimash Qudaibergen Fan Club Oficial España.
The hand fan was chosen as a traditional symbol of Spanish culture, while the color white represented peace.
The initiative took place during the performance of “Aqerke” and was intended to support the artist’s efforts to promote and preserve his native cultural heritage.
“The unconditional love that Dimash Qudaibergen inspires among his fans gives rise to initiatives like this, filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and unity,” the singer’s fans shared.
The enthusiastic support continued during subsequent performances of traditional Kazakh songs, which Dimash brings to life with fresh interpretations. During “Tau Ishinde,” the audience sang the chorus in such perfect unison that even Dimash himself was visibly delighted. Meanwhile, “Durdaraz” was greeted with sustained applause.
During a short break between songs, Dimash invited a fan named José onto the stage. José performed an excerpt from the traditional Kazakh song “Samaltau” on the dombra, an instrument he has been learning to play through online lessons.
At the end of the show, the entire audience joined in singing the traditional Kazakh song “Daididau,” a passage of which was performed by Zhanel Ali, a young Kazakh singer and Dimash fan living in Spain.
