On April 29, Dimash Qudaibergen’s show was held in the Armenian capital, Yerevan, as part of his “Stranger” world concert tour.
The audience began to gather long before the concert in order to listen to the opening artists of the evening. Young Russian singer Anna Kravt, actress and singer from Georgia Teona Dolnikova, vocalist from Armenia Tamara Jamgaryan, jazz singer Arpenik Hakobyan performed on the stage.
The famous beatboxers, united on stage in the group “Ya Na Ha”, attracted the attention of the audience with their unique sound and earned special raves by performing a remix of Dimash’s song “Fly Away”.
The program of Dimash’s concert “Stranger” includes such different in sound, meaning and scenic design compositions, that every spectator, regardless of his musical preferences, will find a lot of interesting things, starting with the spectacular appearance of the artist from under the dome of the stadium in the famous image of Golden Man to the song “Golden”.
For lovers of drive and violent emotions, Dimash together with his dance team presented several fast tracks – “Zalyn”, “Fly away”, “Screaming” and “Durdaraz”.
“Give Me Your Love” and “Be with Me” took over the entire stage, bringing smiles and emotion to every audience member.
In harmonious alternation with energetic compositions, the audience could enjoy the heartfelt sound of such songs as “If I Never Breathe Again”, “Ave Maria”, “SOS”. The magical “Know” sounded very special that evening, according to many in the audience, perhaps because of the duduk, a traditional Armenian instrument.
The excellent sound of the big space of the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex was especially noticeable in the songs “Olimpico”, “Battle of Memories”, and “Stranger”.
The instrumental part of the concert featured dombrists Temirlan Olzhabaev and Yernat Nauryz, who played a medley of kyuis. The “Zaman” group plunged into the depths of centuries with the sound of kobyz and dombra, colored with modern processing.
Dimash’s brother Abilmansur, accompanied by a wonderful team of back-vocalists, performed an electric guitar solo and then accompanied Dimash on the piano in his song “Together”. And, of course, not a single concert goes without Dimash’s performance of the kyu on the dombra and his traditional battle with the drummer on the drums.
The artist’s admirers could enjoy the warm atmosphere of the songs “Love of Weary Swans”, “Daididau”, “Mahhabat Ber Magan”, “AUTUMN SONG”, “Let it be” that had already been learned by heart and penetrated into their souls. The audience sang these songs together with the artist and independently. And Dimash had time to talk to people and even give autographs, continuing to sing into the microphone, given to a fan for a while.
“Unforgettable day,” a song by Dimash, occupies a special place among such songs. “Our goal is to find the way to your hearts through our native Kazakh songs and thus promote our culture. A big bow to you for helping me a lot,” said Dimash before her performance.
At the same time, the show included songs that have recently entered the artist’s repertoire.
Dimash’s song in Spanish, accompanied by three “Dimash” on the screen, was played for only the second time from the stage. And “The Story of One Sky” in its new sounding, according to the fans, opened new facets of this deep and beautiful work.
The long-awaited surprise of the concert was the performance of a song in Armenian by the Kazakh artist. “Sareri hovin mernem” in the first seconds caused a storm of emotions in the audience.
The main impression from the concert that took place in Yerevan is the feeling of a single whole, of total harmony between the artist and his audience. From the very first words of greeting in Kazakh, English, Armenian and Russian to singing with the audience in the language of the host country, Dimash tried to win the attraction of the audience.
“Praise the Almighty for showing me the way to meet you,” was how Dimash expressed his feelings.
We thank hospitable Armenia for the warm welcome and all the viewers for their attention. The “Stranger” concert tour is going on. See you on May 6 in Turkey!
